Kentucky Marriage Demographics and Statistics
This report explores how Kentucky’s population’s marital status is changing—and how the data compares to the United States as a whole. The American Community Survey (ACS), conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, publishes detailed estimates of Kentucky's population each year, subdivided by a wide variety of characteristics—including their marital status. "Married" includes people who are separated.
Unlike the Census—which is an exact count of people and households every ten years—ACS statistics are estimated based on a representative survey sample.
